Any symptom of the body is a sign of energetic imbalance. Acupuncture works to rebalance the body’s energy and train the energy to be sustained in this balanced flow. This requires a series of treatments. Generally, the longer your imbalance has been going on, the more treatments it will take to achieve the results you desire.
Many people try all other methods of medicine before they finally resort to acupuncture. We would actually advise that you get in for acupuncture treatment as soon as possible. Here are a few classifications on duration of illness for acupuncture:
- Acupuncture works best when handling acute cases. The likelihood of being able to turn around an acute imbalance at its root cause is much greater.
- Chronic cases most often are “maintained” with acupuncture. This means that acupuncture will probably be needed over an undetermined period of time and the improvement will last as long as treatments are continued. We treat many clients with chronic diseases that western medicine has not been able to help.
- Acupuncture works well as a preventative medicine. Masters were once revered according to how healthy their patients were. Wouldn’t it be great if Western methods and practitioners were revered in this way also? Well, we’re here!
“To administer medicine after an illness begins is… like digging a well after becoming thirsty or casting weapons after a battle is engaged.” Huangdi Neijing

Having dealt with menopause-related depression for more than five years I am jumping up and down with glee that my symptoms are quickly and happily abating. Frankly I haven’t felt this wonderful — energized, focused, joyful — in 20 years. I’ll be late to a lot of things, but I wouldn’t miss my acupuncture appointment by so much as a minute. The hour I am at my appointment is restful, peaceful, soothing and for days afterward I benefit from the spectacular effects. This is as good as it gets.
I have been coming to Tiny Needle for almost two years for a variety of reasons. After frustrating and disappointing appointments with my family physician, I finally found real relief for migraines with acupuncture. Acupuncture has also been effective for my low back pain and insomnia. The best hour of my week is usually my acupuncture appointment here. Tiny Needle was not my first experience with acupuncture, but it has definitely been the best treatment that I have ever received, by far. I don’t think Cincinnati realizes what a great and rare resource Tiny Needle Community Acupuncture is, but I hope everyone can find it when they need it! I really appreciate the sliding scale fee because it allows me to receive more frequent treatments that make such a difference in my life.
